About the Competitions
Competitions: 1. Skits, 2. Shorts, 3. Poster Presentation, 4. Photography
Theme: An Indian Invention/Scientist (or) a Science & Technology Concept
Eligibility: High School Students (Grade 6 to 12)
Submission Mode: Online, via Telegram Group (t.me/GYS_Contests)
Language: English or any Indian Language
Awards: Attractive Prize Amount, Mementos and Certificates for each Competition
GYS Logos: Contestants may download and
include in their videos or images when they submit their entries.
Competitions & Guidelines
1. Skits
Theme: An Indian Invention/Scientist (or) a Science & Technology Concept
Eligibility: from 6th to 12th Class. (Mixed Group Can Participate)
Submission: Online, via Telegram Group (t.me/GYS_Contests)
- The video lenght will be 10 minutes (+/- 3 minutes).
- The video must be recorded in horizontal (landscape) orientation.
- The video must reflect that it was made for GYS Swaminathan Science Day Contests 2026 in terms of Background or by a
thumbnail. This is to eliminate the possibility of old videos being dumped in this competition. Plese use the above Logos as thumbnails.
- The skit must be performed by a group; solo performances will not be accepted.
- There is no restriction on the number of participants in a team. However, participation must include more than one person.
- Teachers may participate in the skit, if required, only to motivate and support students. They must not play a primary role and may appear only in supporting roles.
- There is no separate Senior or Junior category for this competition.
- Only one memento and one certificate will be awarded per team.
- Any prize or award will be given to the group leader on behalf of the team.
2. Shorts
Theme: An Indian Invention/Scientist (or) a Science & Technology Concept
Eligibility: Juniors: 6th, 7th & 8th Classes. - Seniors: 9th, 10th 11th & 12th Classes.
Submission: Online, via Telegram Group (t.me/GYS_Contests)
- The short / reel lenght will be 50 Seconds to 60 Seconds.
- The video must be recorded in vertical (portrait) orientation.
- The short must reflect that it was made for GYS Swaminathan Science Day Contests 2026 in terms of Background or by a
thumbnail. This is to eliminate the possibility of old shorts being dumped in this competition. Plese use the above Logos as thumbnails.
3. Poster Presentation
Theme: An Indian Invention/Scientist (or) a Science & Technology Concept
Eligibility: Juniors: 6th, 7th & 8th Classes. - Seniors: 9th, 10th 11th & 12th Classes.
Submission: Online, via Telegram Group (t.me/GYS_Contests)
- Prepare a Poster in A3 Size.
- Write down your details on the right corner of the Poster.
- Participants must download and use the app GPS Map Camera: Geo Tagging.
- Each student should submit two photographs of Poster.
- One photograph taken using the GPS Map Camera: Geo Tagging app
- One photograph taken using a regular camera
4. Photography
Theme: A Science & Technology Concept
Eligibility: Juniors: 6th, 7th & 8th Classes. - Seniors: 9th, 10th 11th & 12th Classes.
Submission: Online, via Telegram Group (t.me/GYS_Contests)
- All photographs must be original and taken on or after 1st January 2026.
- Participants must download and use the app GPS Map Camera: Geo Tagging.
- Each student should submit two photographs:
- One photograph taken using the GPS Map Camera: Geo Tagging app
- One photograph taken using a regular camera
- A caption is mandatory, with a maximum of 8 words.
- The narration/description of the photograph must not exceed 100 words.
