About the Competition

GYS Avishkar Awards is a National Science Projects Competition for students from classes 6 to 12.

The objective is to identify and promote demonstrable innovative ideas that create impact on society and have market potential.

Most Science Competitions happen between October and January in an Academic Year. GYS Avishkar Awards are designed with two unique features.

  • Students and Teachers can utilize Summer Holidays comfortably.
  • Guide Teachers are also recognised and rewarded.
  • Competition is completely online.
  • Project submission is through video format.
  • Selection process involves Preliminary Screening and Online Demonstration.

The submission should be a 3 to 7 minutes video demonstrating an idea, model, or prototype with voice explanation. The video is expected to cover the Problem, the Solution, and its marketability.

Competition Terms & Conditions

  1. Students from Class 6 to Class 12 can participate.
  2. Students from Government, Aided, Corporate and Private Schools can participate.
  3. A Project may be submitted by one student or two students. Maximum team size is two.
  4. One student can participate in one Project ONLY.
  5. There must be a Guide Teacher for each Project submission.
  6. Project submitted should be Student's own Idea & Solution.
  7. Previously state-level selected projects should not be submitted.
  8. Language for submission is English or Hindi.
  9. There is NO ENTRY FEE to participate.
  10. Evaluation will be done by a Panel of Educators and Eminent Personalities.
  11. 13 Prizes are announced subject to minimum qualified submissions.
  12. Results will be published on Avishkar Awards website.
  13. Travel reimbursement for top 3 winners up to Rs. 5,000.

Project Submission Format

  • Project submission is in Video Format online.
  • Minimum length: 3 minutes.
  • Maximum length: 7 minutes.
  • Maximum video size: 100 MB.
  • Only one Project Video can be submitted.
  • Video should demonstrate the Idea, Model or Prototype.
  • Voice explanation is mandatory.
  • Cover Page, Titles and Last Page are encouraged.
  • The video must clearly reflect GYS Avishkar Awards 2026.
  • Successful submissions receive email acknowledgement.
